Prayer to Blessed St. Alphonsa

St. Alphonsa was elevated to sainthood on 12 October, 2008 by Pope Benedict XVI.  She was the first Indian woman to be elevated to sainthood by the Church, the second person from India to be declared so, and also the first saint of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, an Eastern Catholic Church.

Oh, Blessed Alphonsa, you have been graciously chosen from our midst to be united with Jesus Christ, our savior, in the misery of his passion, death and resurrection. You have grown to the heights of holiness and have been crowned with heavenly glory.

Help us in our trials and tribulations. Oh! Daughter of sufferings, obtain for us the grace to lead a holy life, following your example, in total submission to the will of God. Be with us, transforming all our sorrows into a holy sacrifice in union with Christ Crucified, in reparation to our sins, for the sanctification and salvation of the whole world.
Amen

Prayer for Families

This is a daily prayer for all families.

Heavenly Father, you have provided us with a magnificient example in the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Give us the grace to follow that ideal through the practice of family virtues in the bond of charity and thereby

assure ourselves of living happily forever in your heavenly home. This we ask of You.

Amen

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (Prayer for Peace)

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
– St. Francis of Assisi

The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Our Father in Heaven (Prayer taught by Jesus)

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name;

Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;

And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Amen

Prayer to St. Gerard (Patron Saint of Expectant Mothers)

Saint Gerard Majella is a Roman Catholic Saint whose intercession is requested for children, childbirth, expectant mothers, motherhood, falsely accused people and so on. All Pregnant ladies can seek the intercession of St. Gerard for a safe delivery.

Great Saint Gerard, patron and protector of expectant mothers, powerful intercessor before God and wonder worker of our day, I call upon you and seek your aid.

Help me always to do the will of God. Preserve me in the dangers of motherhood, and shield the child I now bear, that it may be brought safely to the light of the day and receive the sacrament of baptism. Amen

Prayer to St. Jude (Patron saint of Desperate)

St. Jude Thaddeus was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus. In the Roman Catholic Church, he is the patron saint of desperate causes and lost causes. Here is an intercessory prayer to St. Jude.

St. Jude, glorious apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the true Church invokes you universally as the Patron of things despaired of and lost.

Pray for me, who is so miserable. Pray for me, that I may finally receive the consolations and the succour of Heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly (ADD YOUR PERSONAL REQUEST HERE), and that I may bless God with the Elect Throughout Eternity. Amen
