Catholic Prayers

Our Lord dictated the following prayer to St. Gertrude to release 1000 Souls from purgatory each time it is said. St Gertrude showed “tender sympathy towards the souls in purgatory” and urged prayers for them. She is therefore invoked for souls in purgatory. Let us recite this powerful prayer whenever possible for all the precious souls who long to be united with Almighty God.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus Christ, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

Here is a wonderful prayer for all babies who are conceived and in their mother’s womb. This powerful prayer will protect the baby all through the nine months in the mother’s womb.

O God of all creation,
Nurture and protect tiny children and keep them safe in the sanctuary of their mother’s womb.
As You so wondrously form their hearts and minds and lungs and souls, so strengthen our will to lovingly nurture and protect them.
Give us the eyes to see them as our brothers and sisters, the minds to welcome them as our own, and the faith to defend them as Your children.
We ask this through the intercession of Mary, our Blessed Mother, and the mother of all the little ones, through Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.

All-loving God, we give you thanks and praise for mothers young and old.

We pray for young mothers, who give life and count toes and tend to our every need; May they be blessed with patience and tenderness to care for their families and themselves with great joy.

We pray for our own mothers who have nurtured and cared for us; May they continue to guide us in strong and gentle ways.

We remember mothers who are separated from their children because of war, poverty, or conflict; May they feel the loving embrace of our God who wipes every tear away.

We pray for women who are not mothers but still love and shape us with motherly care and compassion.

We remember mothers. grandmothers, and great-grandmothers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Amen.

O Lord, our Creator, you imposed a duty on all human beings to work together to build up the world. Help us to develop the earth by the work of  our hands and with the aid of technology, in order that it may bear fruit and become a dwelling place worthy of the whole human family. When we do this or consciously take part in the life of social groups, we are carrying out your plan manifested at the beginning of time that we should subdue the earth, perfect creation, and develop ourselves. Let us realize that we are also obeying Christ’s command to place ourselves at the service of others in bringing forth a more human world, through your Son Jesus Christ in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord, source of eternal life and truth, give to your shepherd (Name the Pope) a spirit of courage and right judgement, a spirit of knowledge and love. By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care, may he, as successor to the apostle Peter and vicar of Christ, build your Church into a sacrament of unity, love and peace for all the world. Amen

Lord Jesus Christ, you heard the prayers of your two disciples at Emmaus and stayed with them at eventide. Stay, we pray you, with all your people in the evening of their life. Make yourself known to them, and let your light shine upon their path; and whenever they pass through the valley of the shadow of death, be with them to he end. This we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Here is a short prayer for all our near and dear ones who have gone for Eternal Rest. This short prayer can be used daily to remember all souls who have faithfully departed from this world.

Almighty Father, source of forgiveness and salvation, grant that our relatives and friends who have passed from this life may, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and of all the saints, come to share your Eternal happiness through Christ our Lord. Amen

Eternal Rest grant to then, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

May the Lord bless us, may he keep us from evil and bring us to life everlasting. Amen.

Here is a daily prayer to end abortion. Every unborn child is God’s Precious gift and we have no right to end a human life. Let’s pray for all those who struggle through abortion and who want to end their unborn babies.

Father in heaven, we thank you for the precious gift of human life to our first parents, Adam and Eve, and to every human being down the centuries till today.

In your Divine Providence, you have made us your collaborators in the transmission of this gift and in preserving it from the moment it is conceived till it is transformed into life eternal.

We beg pardon for those who suffocate human life in unborn babies, who eliminate it violently with enmity and hatred, or who suppress it prematurely in the elderly and the terminally ill.

Grant us so to cherish human life that we shall always respect and defend it, especially within the sacred shrine of the family where it is born and nurtured. We promise to use the gift of life with gratitude and care  at all times and in every place.

We make this prayer to You, our loving Father, through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Life, in the Holy Spirit, Lord and Giver of Life, and the name of Jesus Christ, your Son, who came that we may have life in abundance. Amen

Here is a daily prayer for your parents. Your parents may be near or far, but a prayer is the least you can do for them. All parents love their children and sacrifice their lives for their children. As we grow up and leave our parents to lead our own lives, we conveniently push them down to the bottom of our Priority List. Wherever you are, this powerful prayer for your parents will give them peace and happiness.

“Lord, I surrender to you my family. Lord Jesus, I pray for my parents. Though you blessed them abundantly, today they are in need of your help. Give my parents joy and strength. Fill them with your strengthening presence. Lord, give them real thirst and hunger for the Holy Spirit and for the Word of God. Give them health in spirit, soul and body.

Even though they may feel that all the trouble they took for their children are being wasted, help them to see the great reward waiting for them in Heaven. Help my parents to forgive themselves and forgive everyone else.

Even though as parents they may have failed to fulfil their duites, Lord, set them free from sadness and sorrow, regrets and sense of guilt. Jesus fill them with your Holy Spirit. Thank you Jesus. Amen”

Father, by the power of your Holy Spirit, you have filled the hearts of your faithful people with gifts of love for one another.
