Charity is a virtue which disposes us to love God above all creatures for Himself, and to love ourselves and our neighbors for the sake of God. The Spiritual Works of Mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual necessities.
- To admonish the sinner.
- To instruct the ignorant.
- To counsel the doubtful.
- To comfort the sorrowful.
- To bear wrongs patiently.
- To forgive all injuries.
- To pray for the living and the dead.
