Saint Aloysius was an Italian Jesuit seminarian who lived a very short life of 23 years. He led a very holy life and purity was his notable virtue. He is the Patron Saint of young students, Christian Youth, the blind, AIDS Patients and AIDS care-givers. His feast is celebrated on Jun 21st. He is often depicted as a young man wearing a black cassock and white rochet. His attributes are a lily, referring to innocence; a cross, referring to piety and sacrifice; a skull, referring to his early death; and a rosary, referring to his devotion to the Virgin Mary. Here is a beautiful prayer entrusting oneself to our Blessed Mother.
O holy Mary, my Mistress, into thy blessed trust and special keeping, into the bosom of thy tender mercy, this day, every day of my life and at the hour of my death, I commend my soul and body; to thee I entrust all my hopes and consolations, all my trials and miseries, my life and the end of my life, that through thy most holy intercession and thy merits, all my actions may be ordered and disposed according to thy will and that of thy Son. Amen.
